They say what gets measured, gets done. Not quite sure who the ‘they’ is and where this phrase originated but I definitely believe this to be true in my professional goals and aspirations, as well as equally true in my personal life. With that, I am a strong believer in documenting my goals and intentions for the new year, call them new year resolutions, if you will.
This year I decided to approach my goals a bit differently, instead of writing down a laundry list (I’ll probably still do this, too, I love a good list!) I got out the magazines and went the vision board route. A bit more creative, this fun exercise I spent time cutting out the words and images that spoke to me.
2017 was a big year for me as I figured out my professional path, leaping into the start-up world, and taking responsibility for more than I had previously owned. This year, I look forward to making strides on the creative aspects of my life, from growing xoxojackie to outfitting a home that truly speaks to I am.
Another area I look forward to getting back to is fitness. Since college and finishing up my track career, it’s been an ongoing journey to find the right exercises and activities that will keep me engaged and active. So I look forward to keeping that journey going – rock climbing anybody?
Let’s not leave off the professional side, though. This year too, I look to continue my professional growth, creative eye, and analytical aptitude.
I’ll limit my words with that brief overview, and here is the beginning of my intentions collage. I plan to hold myself accountable with this image, check back in to measure, and see how well I am meeting my expectations. Making my goals public should add another layer of accountability!
Take a look at my intentions:
