Since moving into my apartment in July ( I can’t believe it’s been six months already!) I’ve been eagerly awaiting my kitchen remodel. It’s been the dingy spot in my, overall lovely, space. I’m excited to share some of the design details that I’ll be using in my upcoming mini-remodel.
I’m slowly working my way through this remodel with the help of a handyman who is doing the plumbing and tile work. I’ve got a couple of fun projects I’ll be working on as well to complete the space.
Picking out materials is definitely my favorite part of the remodeling process. I spent more time than I’d like to admit finding the perfect brass knobs! But, since it looks like I’ll be spending more time at home, it is important that my choices are right for me.
I believe natural materials help to create a serene space. My focus was on finding chic, affordable materials that fit well in my tiny apartment. I went with a muted pallette that can be found in nature.
Here’s a closer look at the materials I’ll be using in my kitchen.
Terrazzo
This is one trend I am totally behind. My chosen terrazzo is a beige with warm browns and cool greys. Here.
Brass hardware
In keeping with the brass hardware throughout my apartment. Satin brass is a timeless choice for hardware and faucets. Here, here.
Linen
I’m so excited to incorporate this natural fiber into my design. I love how earthy unbleached linen feels. Here.
Black accents
I use black to break up all of the warm tones I use and love. Here.
Leather
Another natural fiber. I love using leather to bring in a bit of masculinity to my space.
Plants
Of course, plants play a role in my kitchen design. It wouldn’t have the xoxojackie touch without some life added to the space.
I’ll be back to share updates on my space and project tutorials over the next few weeks, so stay tuned! (Before and after shots!)
